Following security tip off about impending islamic attacks in some states in the north, the Nigerian military has stormed two Nigerian states, Adamawa and Yobe, to prevent any security breaches that may give way for islamist group attacks.
In Adamawa state, a dusk to dawn curfew has been imposed in Mubi, as security operatives of the JTF and the police are combing the town for possible hideouts of terrorist groups. A house to house search is being carried out in the area for possible guns, explosives and hideouts of terrorist groups. There are reports of tension in the city as fierce looking security personnel and patrols are seen everywhere.
In Yobe state, over 1000 troops have been confirmed to be deployed in Damaturu following security reports that there are possible terrorist group hideouts in the city planning more violent attacks on prominent persons, communication installations and churches. over 800 to 1,000 persons have been arrested in Damaturu by the JTF who are currently undergoing strict interrogations and identification procedures. However, sources say some civil servants are among those currently being held, as JTF has refused them a chance to identify themselves. Just yesterday, unknown gunmen set on fire, residences of the Speaker of the state house of assembly, Adamu Dala Dogo, member of the house of representives, Goni Bukar, and Ibrahim Gaidam, a younger brother to the Yobe state governor.
